Atlanta Falcons – Seattle Seahawks: Initial situation
The Atlanta Falcons and the Seattle Seahawks are going in a totally different direction at the moment. The Falcons are looking for their longest winning streak in a while and the Seahawks are hoping to stop the freefall.
Atlanta Falcons Stats & Form
It’s been a while since the Atlanta Falcons had a winning season and it looked like this would be another painful ride as they were 1-2 after three games. Kirk Cousins who was brought in on a $180 million contract was immediately labeled as a bust, but he has made a lot of people bite their tongues with his recent play. The Falcons are currently on a three-game winning streak and sit on top of the NFC South with a 4-2 record. After beating the New Orleans Saints by two points and needing an overtime to go past the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Falcons blew out the Carolina Panthers 38-20 in the last one. Cousins completed 19 of 30 passes for 225 yards with a three-yard touchdown pass to Drake London. Bijan Robinson ran for 95 yards and two touchdowns, while Tyler Allgeier added 105 rushing yards.
Seattle Seahawks Stats & Form
The Seattle Seahawks surprised many with a 3-0 start, but things have started to fall apart as they lost the next three games. The loss in Detroit was expected, but the breakdown at home to the Giants may be the turning point of their season. In the last game, the Seahawks were quite good, but the San Francisco 49ers were simply unstoppable. Geno Smith passed for 312 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted twice, and the Seahawks were just into too deep of a hole at halftime. They closed the gap to 29-24 with less than two minutes and could not get the ball again. Now the Seahawks are second in the NFC West with a 3-3 record.

Betting tip and prediction: Atlanta Falcons – Seattle Seahawks (20.10.2024)
The Atlanta Falcons are one of the most pleasant surprises this season in the NFL. Currently, they are on a three-game winning streak, their longest since 2019 when they won four straight. The Falcons are hoping for their first winning season and a playoff appearance since 2017, and things are definitely going in the right direction since they beat divisional opponents in the last three games, most recently the Carolina Panthers 38-20. The key reason for that success is the acquisition of quarterback Kirk Cousins, who recently set the franchise’s single-game passing total with 509 yards and four touchdowns. It is obvious that first-year head coach Raheem Morris is doing a great job, just like offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, who is also in his first year. Robinson, who joined the Falcons after two seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, has taken the Falcons to an average of 24.8 points per game after they had 18.9 last season. Unlike the Falcons, the Seahawks are going in a totally different direction. Seattle started well, winning the first three games while allowing only 14.3 points per game, but has lost the next three, allowing 36 points per game in that stretch. Geno Smith’s inconsistency has been an issue for Seattle, as he is second in the league with six interceptions. The Seahawks run game hasn’t been of much help either, as they are 29th of 32 teams. The Seahawks are going into this without defensive back Rayshawn Jenkins, who landed on injured reserve. The Falcons could be thin at linebacker on Sunday, with Troy Andersen and Lorenzo Carter missing practice this week. Matthew Judon and Nate Landman are also questionable, just like safety Justin Simmons, Bijan Robinson, and Antonio Hamilton. Given the current form, the Falcons are definitely the favorites in this game. But it is a fact that their successful run will end somewhere, just like Seattle’s struggle. That’s why we go with the Seahawks to at least cover the +3.5-point spread.
