Ever since they were introduced back in 2019, seven years after the launch of CS:GO, agents have been a very controversial addition to the game, garnering praise and hate in equal measure. Agents in the game are classified based on the two factions, terrorists and counter-terrorists, with each having their own individual agent types.
The major issues surrounding agents are mainly tied to them being both game-breaking and unnecessary to begin with. The agent skins that were introduced serve no purpose beyond aesthetics while also affecting gameplay through the skins having varying hitboxes. The hitbox issue affects the overall gameplay and is considered such a major flaw that professional players avoid using them entirely in competitive settings.
Nevertheless, agents are here to stay, and so we better get used to them, but first, let’s begin by trying to understand them. Here we’ll be looking at the counter-terrorist agents in CS2 and how they are classified.
Counter-Terrorist Agents Classifications
There are currently four categories of Counter-Terrorist agents in CS2, namely:
- Master Counter Terrorist Agents

Master Counter-Terrorist Agents
The most prestigious agent you can find in the game is the Master Defense Agent. This agent features unique voice lines and animations that happen before and after matches, as well as cool aesthetic gear.
