Opening a case in CS2 is mostly hit or miss, with the chances of getting something valuable being quite low. Yet, we can’t resist opening them, as even a slim 20% chance is enough to keep us coming back. Some cases offer a lot of great value for a minimal cost, making them worth the gamble on some occasions. One such case is the Fracture Case.
There is never a shortage of skins in Counter-Strike, with a consistent stream popping up whenever there’s a major update, special operation, or event tied to the game. New cases, on the other hand, don’t appear quite as often and, due to their randomness, sometimes make worthy investments as their value tends to grow over time. One such case we’ll be looking at in particular is the Fracture Case. Released on 6 August 2020 as part of the “On the Case” update, the Fracture Case is a weapon case that comes with 17 community-made weapon finishes as well as Shattered Web Case Knives which include the Paracord Knife, Survival Knife, Skeleton Knife, and Nomad Knife.
Investing in the Fracture Case
We are in no position to give anyone financial advice, but if there’s one thing we can say for sure about the Fracture Case, it’s that it’s one of the best price to value cases around, especially if you’re interested in knives. The case features 52 possible rare skins, with some truly exceptional knives up for grabs. As is with all cases, though, the guarantee of getting a rare item is unbelievably low but not impossible.
The Fracture Case is in no way a cheap case, especially if you include the key, but it’s one of the cheapest you’ll find, so if you’re looking to play it safe, you could take a chance on this one. With regard to price, the Fracture case usually hovers around 30 cents, but keep in mind that the key has not been included in the price yet. To open any case in CS2, you’ll usually need to first buy a key, with keys going for around $2.50. If you include the price of the case, you’ll be looking at a total price of about $2.90.
When compared to other cases, the Fracture Case, outside of providing great value, also has a fairly reasonable return on investment (ROI). The Fracture Case has a return on investment that hovers around 40%, which is surprisingly fair by CS2 standards.
Short-Term Investment
If you’re considering buying the Fracture Case as a short-term investment option, your chances of making anything are little to none as the case is still part of prime drops, which doesn’t make it rare at all.
Long-Term Investment
Viewing the Fracture Case as a long-term investment is possible, as the items you stand to get from opening one are quite valuable and rare. If the case happens to drop out of the Prime drop pool, you should expect a surge in price. The fact that this is a fairly old case is also promising.
Should you buy the Fracture Case?
The current price of the Fracture Case is $0.26, which is fairly low, especially if you factor in the items you could potentially obtain. As a purchase, the Fracture Case seems fairly safe and could be considered a worthy long-term investment, especially if you account for the fact that it’s fairly old now.
