League of Legends Ambessa Build Season 14

Share

The freshly released new Arcane champion Amebessa is clocking in at an impressive win rate of 43%. The number does seem intimidating, however, it’s truly not indicative of the real power of this champion.

As with any new champion, Ambessa has been flocked with an influx of inexperienced players who have significantly dragged her win rate down. To set ourselves apart from the crown, we are gonna start things right by equipping the greatest current build for this champion.

Best Ambessa Items

Ambessa-Items title

Eclipse

Ambessa is a champion that likes short trades, to play into her strength, a great first item to build is the Eclipse. This item will grant us a small shield almost each time we attack an enemy, and it will be significant in helping us win trades. To utilize the item properly we want to go in when its shield passive is off-cooldown, do our combo, then walk out and wait for the cooldowns to refresh before going in again.

Black Cleaver

Ambessa is a champion whose kit has a pretty similar design to Riven. She can quickly unleash many consecutive attacks on an enemy. This makes Ambessa a really great Black Cleaver user, as she can proc the “cleave” passive on enemies really rapidly. With each hit on the enemy, Black Cleaver will enable us to shed a percentage of their armor.

The quickly procable armor shredding will allow us to have a much easier time defeating enemies in skirmishes. Another great thing about the early Black Cleaver purchase is that it will make us much tankier, enabling us much greater combat sustain.

Death’s Dance

As with any close combat bruiser, Death’s Dance is a pretty neat addition. The item will give us a great amount of armor that will be sufficient to counter a major percentage of incoming AD damage. Additionally, Death’s Dance will cleanse a nice amount of pending damage in fights, whenever we score a takedown.

Sterak’s Gage

After getting our 3 core items, the best next item to purchase would be the Sterak’s Gage. It’s a nice add-on to facilitate more sustain through extra HP. Another great perk of this item is the shield which will activate whenever we are below 30% HP.

The shield is best used to trick the enemy. If the enemy is going for a kill, they will rarely calculate the shield entailed with Steraks Gage. This will allow you to catch enemies off guard, and win trades you otherwise would not.

Sundered Sky

A great item to finish off our Ambessa build is the Sundered Sky. The item will give us yet another increase of HP, as well as a really beneficial passive. The passive will double the base damage of our auto-attacks, enabling us to start our combos with a nice new addition of damage.

Boots

The current best choices for Ambessa bots are the defensive boots. So the selection pretty much boils down to Mercury Treads and Plated Steelcaps. Treads are a buy that slightly counters magic resist, but offer a great CC reduction, while Plated Steelcaps will give us some armor alongside basic attack damage reduction. Both of these are great, and the choice will depend primarily on the enemy team draft.

Final Thoughts

The freshly baked new champion is a great alternative to Riven. She is a great duelist who has a really powerful lane presence. The current best build for this champion is a classical bruiser one.
