League of Legends Best Critical Strike Champions Season 14

Share

The current season has not been kind to champions using critical strike, since meta was mostly dominated by picks defined by other strengths. However, there are still some picks that can do very well by primarily building critical strike. Here are some of our top picks!

Best Critical Strike Champions in League of Legends

Yasuo & Yone

Yasuo and Yone are one of the greatest crit strike champions in the game currently. They are both distinguished by the passive which doubles their critical strike. The passive increase is a quite significant perk, as it greatly enhances the value of critical strike items such as Infinity Edge.

The wind brothers are extremely challenging champions to play, however, they also happen to be one of the coolest and most fun champions as well. For those who have not played either one of them, I would recommend Yone to start with.

Yone has a pretty similar feel to Yasuo while being much easier to play. He is also less punishing towards mistakes, because his kit includes plenty of spells that can be used for safety.

Tryndamere

Tryndamere is an OG critical strike champion. With each basic attack hit, Tryndamere will stack furry. Furry is closely related to crit, meaning that as you stack furry, you will proportionally increase your critical strike.

The furry mechanic is quite interesting, as it allows Tryndamere to possess a lot of critical strike chance early on in the game. It’s also worth noting that furry can be consumed by pressing Q, this action will heal us, but it will also remove the crit strike chance granted by furry.

Now, all things considered, Tryndamere is truly one of the strongest crit champions in the game currently. The crit makes him a great duelist, capable of taking down most champions in 1v1 settings. His fighting ability coupled with his very strong push strength makes Tryndamere a very hard champion to beat.

Caitlyn

Caitlyn is one of the few crit ADC’s who has survived the recent meta shift towards different build options. She is a great long range carry that can significantly damage enemies without putting herself at danger. Her kit is very optimized for running critical, and she can output massive damage by building items such as LDR. Caitlyn is also a very great pick for beginner ADC’s, as she has the biggest ADC range in the game. This long range is a very nice crutch, as it gives us a leg up on the more experienced ADC players.

Jhin

Jhin is another champion that has survived the culling of crit strike champions. The pick is mostly distinguished by his great lore and visuals, but his gameplay is not lagging either. Jhin works on a 4 auto-attack basis, meaning he has to take the time to reload between every 4 hits. The delay on his reloading is quite fair, considering he has insanely high damage on each of his auto-attacks.

Final Thoughts

The critical strike champions are not in the greatest place at the moment, however, there are still some champions that can thrive by accumulating the stats. The picks outlined here are generally the best, and they can be played in pretty much every elo. They do tend to skew towards higher skill requirement, but learning them is a worthwhile effort anyway!
