Some History & Pricing Details

The League of Legends skins ecosystem has significantly changed over the past season. We were first introduced to the quite a hefty priced Dark Cosmic Erasure chroma costing $200. As surprising as this range was, it did not even come close to the another release that was priced twice as much, Hall of Legends Ahri. The Ahri skin dedicated to the legendary GOAT of the game received a pricing of around $450.

These skins with a significant price tag have left a sour taste in the mouths of the League of Legends community, where players were quick to voice their disappointment on all social media channels. Many members of the community hoped that this would be a one of thing, but the new releases confirm that the new price tiers are here to stay.

When it comes to the upcoming Arcane Fracture Jinx, we will have to dish out as much as $250 in the worst cases. The skin will be unlocked with a new premium currency, Ancient Sparks. The currency will cost 400 RP, which is equivalent to the lowest-priced RP bundle amounting to $4.99

The Ancient Spark currency is set to be a part of the Sanctum System. The system is essentially a pool of rewards that can be unlocked with its premium currency. The rewards are divided into 3 categories, with the highest category being the S tier. The S tier has the lowest probability of dropping, but it will include the highest tier of rewards such as Arcane Fracture Jinx. The lower categories will drop banners, common skins, and less common skins, as well as emotes and other misc. things.

So how does the skin cost $250? Well, it kinda does, and it kind of doesn’t. The skin can drop at any point when you are using the $4 Ancient Sparks, however, the laws of probability would dictate that it would not be a common occurrence to get it fast. To encourage purchases, Riot has added a “bad luck protection system,” that will automatically grant you the skin after unlocking 80 Ancient Sparks, the purchase of this amount of currency would equal to around $250

How Will the Skin Look Like

Judging by the development screenshots released so far, the skin will undoubtedly look really polished. The animations look extremely crisp and clean, and they are colored in a really appealing and balanced way. It also does appear that the skin will have multiple transformation modes, as the given screenshots show the same spells with different animation patterns.

Judging by everything we have seen, it does seem like this skin has been cooking for a really long time, but is the 32,000 RP price point justified? Well, I think everyone would agree it’s not quite an appealing range for the average gamer, but there is obviously still an audience for this kind of product.

Summary

The Arcane release has been followed by new skin releases. One of the skins that has captivated the eyes of the audience the most is the new Arcane Jinx skin. The drawn attention mainly stems from its hefty price tag, clocking in at $250. The skin will be unlockable with a new currency, and it is guaranteed to drop after you have used 80 units of the currency costing $4.
