Udinese – Cagliari: Initial situation
Both Udinese and Cagliari have had many ups and downs this season and given the fact that both sides have ling injury lists, this game can easily go either way.
Udinese Stats & Form
Udinese has dropped to 8th place in the standings after last week’s loss to Milan. The game did not start well for the Little Zebras, as Milan took an early lead but Tijjani Reijnders was sent off at the half hour mark which was a huge opportunity for Udinese. They picked up the pace and tried to make things even, but none of their shots found the net. That was Udinese’s third loss in the last four Serie A games. Lorenzo Lucca leads the team with 5 goals so far in the season, followed by Florian Thauvin who has 4 goals and 3 assists. Udinese is fourth in the league with 29 saves and are ranked 11th with 10 goals scored.
Cagliari Stats & Form
Looking at the past couple of weeks, Cagliari is one of the best teams in Serie A but since they had a really slow start, the Islanders are only in 8th place in the standings. Cagliari has 3 wins in the last 4 games overall and is coming off a 3-2 win over Torino after coming back from 2-1 down in the last 15 minutes of the game. Before that, Cagliari managed to win a point playing 1-1 against Juventus in Turin. Roberto Piccoli is the top scorer on the team with 3 goals so far in the season. Cagliari is on top of the league posts and corners.

Betting tip and prediction: Udinese – Cagliari (25.10.2024)
There is a pretty big gap in the standings between these two teams, and this game can change the entire picture. Just a week ago, Udinese was in the top 5, but one goal in Milano, despite playing with an extra man on the pitch, changed everything. Now the team from Udine is near the middle of the standings and will try to recover against Cagliari. The Little Zebras had a very strong start to the season, and recent inconsistency has dropped them in the standings. Their new head coach, Kosta Runjaic, brought fresh energy to the team, and they are playing way more aggressively this season. Even though it is still too early, this game may be a turning point of the season since Udinese will either get back near the top or drop even further. Udinese is quite solid at home, winning three of four games so far in the season, but will have to show some extra effort to keep it rolling. Runjaic has four players he will not be able to count on for Friday. Their most experienced striker Florian Thauvin is out with an injury, just like midfielders Arthur Atta and Martin Payero and defender Thomas Kristensen. On the other hand, Cagliari is in the best form of the season. They have won two of the last three games and managed to stay undefeated when they visited Juventus in between. The team from Sardinia deserves all the respect for recent success, but it is pretty clear that they will not keep playing on that level much longer. Just like Udinese, Cagliari has four players on the injury list. Gianluca Lapadula and Leonardo Pavoletti will still wait for their first goal this season since both are injured, just like defenders Adam Obert and Mateusz Wieteska. Cagliari will definitely be more than happy with a point from this visit and will probably try to slow down the pace. Udinese is hoping for that since they are capable of taking control of the game and winning at the end.
