Washington Commanders – Carolina Panthers: Initial situation
Jayden Daniels has turned many heads in his rookie season for the Commanders and many are already putting him in the conversation for the best quarterback in the game. The Carolina Panthers had no such talent on their roster and they were already forced to make some changes in the quarterback position. The Commanders are major favorites in this game and anything but a comfortable win for the team from DC will be unexpected.
Washington Commanders Stats & Form
If you are wondering whether one draft pick can change the fortune of a franchise, just look at the Washington Commanders. They grabbed Jayden Daniels with the second overall pick in the last draft and the rookie is slowly but surely becoming one of the best quarterbacks in the league. The Commanders were on a four-game winning streak before losing 30-23 in the last one against the Baltimore Ravens. Daniels was 24 of 35 for 269 yards, the most he had all season long. Despite the loss, the Commanders are still on top of the NFC East with a 4-2 record.
Carolina Panthers Stats & Form
No one really expected anything from the Carolina Panthers this season, and they are one of the four teams in the entire NFL with only one win in six games. Their only win came in Week 3, 36-22 in Vegas, and the Panthers have lost the next three games. Just to put into perspective how bad this Panthers team is, all of their losses came with a double-digit deficit, and they have allowed 34 or more points in four games this season. Last week, they lost 38-20 to the Atlanta Falcons. Andy Dalton finished 26 of 38 for 221 yards with two touchdown passes and two fourth-quarter interceptions. The Panthers were so self-distractive in that one had three false starts, a bad snap, a dropped pass, a blown blocking assignment, and a miscommunication on a handoff.
Washington Commanders – Carolina Panthers: Head to Head
The Washington Commanders lead the all-time series 10-7 against the Carolina Panthers and are 6-3 at home. Carolina was on a five-game winning streak before Washington winning three of the next four. Their last game came in 2021 when the Commanders won 27-21. Three of the last four games between these two teams finished under the total point line.

Betting tip and prediction: Washington Commanders – Carolina Panthers (20.10.2024)
The Washington Commanders are one of the top stories in the NFL this season, as they have surprised many with a 4-2 start. However, the team management has even higher expectations, and the main reason for that is Jayden Daniels. The rookie quarterback has taken over the league over his first six NFL games as he leads the league in completion percentage with 75.3 and has rushed for 322 yards, second-most among all quarterbacks. The Commanders are looking to bounce back after last week’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens and are seeking their first 5-2 start since 2018. Brian Robinson Jr. is expected to be back in action after suffering a minor knee injury last Sunday. On the flip side, Washington lost defensive end Javontae Jean-Baptiste, who is placed on the injured reserve squad with an ankle injury, and Dorance Armstrong is still questionable after he missed practice with a rib injury. Just in case, the Commanders added defensive tackle Sheldon Day from the practice squad and free-agent defensive end Jalyn Holmes. These guys are definitely ready to step in if needed, and Commanders’ linebacker Frankie Luvu and safety Jeremy Chinn will have an extra motive in this game since they used to play for Carolina. The Panthers are having another disappointing season and are the only NFC team with five losses. Panthers’ running back Chuba Hubbard ranks third in the league with 485 rushing yards. Quarterback Andy Dalton has thrown for 896 yards with seven touchdowns and four interceptions on 71.4 percent passing across four starts since taking over the starting job from Bryce Young. Dalton will probably put his numbers in this one as well, but the Commanders will not miss an opportunity to add another important win and make a statement that they are for real this season. Given all that, we go with Washington to cover the -7.5-point spread.
